Brouwerij de Molen was again present at an international beerfestival. This time the Copenhagen Beerfestival 2009. We the only foreign brewery with the brewer himself present. A fact that was appreciated very much by the beerloving Danes and foreign visitors as well. So although the number of visitors was a bit disappointing the De Molen stand was still crowded all the time. Not a minut rest for us and our help at the stand.
Carl and Menno got help from Yespr and Christine from the Ølbaren beer bar. Saturday Ungstup tapped the beer from his Lang & Kaal within 2 hours completely empty. Lang & Kaal (Tall & Bald) - or Fit and Firery as he rather calls it himself - is a special brew for his 40th birthday. We used 40 years old congnac soaked wooden chips for this one.
We shared our stand with Tecnobirra from Italy. They are our Italian importers. Less fun was the visit from the
Skat, Danish tax service. Tecnobirra got a 1000 euro fine for not using the Danish tax stickers. On top of that all their bottles were seized. Our Danish importer takes care of this normally and we paid the taxes. But we didn't use the sticker either because no one told us we had to. We were very lucky not to get the same treatment from the Skat. All together we had great fun and loved all the beerlovers at our stand. It was worth the 20 hour trip.
