Ratebeer Best 2010
Very special was the award shower we received this week by Ratebeer.com. By thousands of beerlovers from many countries worldwide scores were given to beers from all over the world. A truely wordwide competition. Over 2.47 million reviews of 110,000 beers from over 9680 brewers were tailled. A particular emphasis was placed on tastings from the last year's performance.
The awards:
- Gold Award by winning 10th place for Best Brewers in the World. We are the only European brewery in the Top 10 and the only Dutch brewery in the Top 100. This list is mainly dominated by Nort American, Belgian and Scandinavian breweries.
- Gold Award for Hel & Verdoemenis for a place in the Top 100 Best Beers in the World. Als the only Dutch beer in this list.
- Tsarina Esra Reserva won a Gold Award for Best Dutch Beer. Besides that de Molen won 12 Golden Awards, 8 Silver Awards and 12 Bronze Awards. Almost 1000 Dutch beers joined this competition for 50 Awards
Last sunday Lood & Oud IJzer was elected best Winterbeer 2010 by the visitors of the festival. Our festival specialty Rasputin Oak Aged won 4th place in this election.
Stockholm Beer and Whisky Festival (September) 2009
The Stockholm Beer & Whisky festival is a yearly event and hands out prizes for the best beers. Just like last year Brouwerij de Molen won some desired prizes. Our Bloed, Zweet & Tranen (Blood, Sweat & Tears) deserved a bronze medal as smoked according to the jury. A special Stockholm edition of Hel & Verdoemenis (Hell & Damnation), developed in cooperation with Monks Café & Brewery, achieved a silver medal in the Stout category. And our imperial stout Rasputin got a golden medal.
Ratebeer Best 2009
Ratebeer.com is the largest beer consumers website in the world with many thousands of members. Yearly Ratebeer issues their Ratebeer Best using the hundreds of thousands of ratings by these members. Ratebeer Best lists the best brewers and beers in different categories.
Last year Brouwerij de Molen occupied the 88th place but this year we took over 55th place of best brewers in the world (8755 breweries listed). Besides that our Hel & Verdoemenis is the only Dutch beer on the 70th place in the Top 100 Beers. And the Top 10 Dutch Beers is dominated by 8 beers from Brouwerij de Molen. No need to say we are very proud.
Italian Beer festival 2008
Our beer called Hel & Verdoemenis (Hell & Damnation) won a price during the Italia Beer Festival in Brescia. Our brewmaster received this prize January 25th.
Menno Olivier wins "Zilveren Knuppel"
The winner of the "Zilveren Knuppel" 2008 is our brewer Menno Olivier.
Each year at the end of the Dutch "week of beers", tasting room "The Wildeman" from Amsterdam gives a price called "Zilveren Knuppel" (Silver Bat) to a person or company making a substantial contribution to the beer culture in the Netherlands. Read more on the website of Pint (Dutch only).
Stockholm Beer and Whisky Festival (September) 2008
Hel & Verdoemenis (Hell & Damnation), an Imperial Stout, won a golden medal at the Stockholm Beer and Whisky Festival in the category 8% ABV and above. It didn’t only receive the highest score for this year but also the highest score ever in the long history of the festival.
Tsarina Esra “Most appreciated Winterbeer of the Winterbeer Festival 2008”
During the Pint Winterbeer Festival 2008 our Tsarina Esra Imperial Porter was voted most appreciated winterbeer by the visitors of the festival. Click here for more info (in Dutch) on the Pint website.

De Molen Winterbok won 2nd place for best Dutch Bockbeer in 2007 by www.lekkerstebockbier.nl, the largest independent consumer beer test in the Netherlands.
Great British Beer Festival 2005
Not just a festival, but the largest in the whole of Europe with more than 40,000 visitors in 5 days. For our Borefts Stout we received the certificate ‘Favourite Belgian/Dutch Beer’.
