BBF 2009 report

We got many reactions and e-mails about the festival. Here's a small selection:

Brian Ewing - Just wanted to thank you again for hosting an absolutely incredible festival
yesterday. What a treat to have all of those extraordinary beers and brewers
together in one small location. I simply cannot imagine a better event.

Richard van Dellen - Thanks for a incredible day yesterday! Most wonderful stuff tasted and I had a fun day. <......> Yes, this was Walhalla. Pure beer nirvana!

Aries - Many thanks to the de Molen crew! You made my Närke dream come true!

The first Borefts Beer Festival was obviously a great success. A little photo impression of the can be found here. Interested in more pictures, visit our webalbum.

The shared bar by Brouwerij de Molen, Revelation Cat and Beck Bräu from Trabelsdorf (Germany). This was our surprise brewery with a smoked bock called Affumicator at 9.6% ABV.
Our brewmaster Menno Olivier had to tell many stories and accept loads of compliments. It was a hard day ... :-)
Even the wheater gods were on our side. Therefor these festival visitors could enjoy their beer outside in front of the brewery.
The Mikkeller stand has the attention of some visitors from England and America. With a whole series of Beer Geek Brunch Weasel and special Mikkeller Black they had the attention of every visitor by the way.
The Närke taps with a number of beers that made every visitor jump for joy. What a beers! From a pre-Viking beer made from juniper, smoked malts and rye to the most complex but perfectly balanced imperial stout, the Kaggen Stormaktsporter.
And they did not come for just some great beers. There was so much fun as well. One of the woman visitors told us "I'm surprised by the wonderful atmosphere; it looks like one big happy family". A better compliment cannot be given, can it?
Loads of attention to the other Dutch brewery Emelisse from Kamperland. Especially the variety in the beers was most appreciated. They offered a wide range from a 'simple' Bock to a powerful 10% ABV Espresso Stout.
The shared bar by Alvinne and Struise brewers from Belgium at our 2nd location. Belgian beers but not those that you can buy in any supermarket. Not at all! These guys know how to brew a beer. The most beautiful and complex beers from very sour, bitter to wonderfully soft sweet.
Tasting beers is a serious sport. Just like playing chess.
